Re(visions) 87 Keep The Vision

Thursday, June 25th, 2009
Keeping your vision can be very difficult.  There are so many outside factors jostling for your attention.  I see it is a kind of octopus with all of it’s tentacles surrounding you.  Each tentacle represents an idea or an option and they are swirling all around trying to confuse you or lure you into choosing that option or idea.

That is how I am feeling but after having a session with my coach I do feel better.  I was reminded to come back to my vision that I set out for myself - my purpose.  Do the options or ideas presented to me fit with my purpose and my vision?  This is a great question!

So with regard to your health & wellness goals do the options put forward to you reflect your vision for yourself?  Will it make you healthier?  Will it increase your quality of life?
Ask yourself these questions when making the choice between fries or a salad with your sandwich.  Ask yourself these questions when the relationship you are in is in constant turmoil.

What is the answer?  Yes or no?  The answer my be a journey in itself.

Have an awesome week!

Nutrition Tip -

Be careful when picking your salad dressings!  Some of the ingredients are pretty scary.  For example, in one of the most common brands of dressings they put an ingredient called “propylene glycol”.  It is a preservative and is basically - windshield washer fluid!  Yuk!

Share with everyone what you want or need…

Thursday, June 11th, 2009
Happy Tuesday,

So how did you celebrate last week?

I had a great email from a reader last week and she went and bought herself a whole bouquet of flowers!  Just because she deserved them.  Way to go, K. and thanks for sharing.

I went to a networking event today - a lunch in Brockville.  I brought a guest with me, a friend who is looking for employment.  I asked her to come along not because I thought someone would have employment for her specific skills but because of the nature of networking - there might be someone who knew someone who knew someone.

She came away with several ideas for a new business and some contacts for looking for work in her present field.

It just goes to show you never know til you try and you never know til you share with someone what it is you are looking for.

My challenge to you is to share with someone what you need or want.  Who knows what will come of it?!?

Have an awesome week everyone!

Pass on the positiveness

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

From Re(visions) by Jeanette Johnston

Happy Tuesday…

Ok, so it’s Thursday.  I apologize that this didn’t get to you on
time, {!firstname}.  Due to scheduling difficulties and technical
difficulties there wasn’t much hope for me getting this out on
Tuesday.  I hope your week has been productive and full of positive
things.

So now that we are in the latter part of the week and not the
former part let’s reflect a little on what has gone on in your
week.  What has gone really well this week?  What are you proud of
accomplishing?  Stop and think about this for a few minutes.  I’ll
wait….

Perhaps a little celebration is appropriate - go out and buy
yourself a carnation or enjoy a walk in the fresh air or give a pal
or relative a call and let them know what was good about your week.

Let’s use our community; let’s pass on the positiveness - pay it
forward.  I am going to make at least one call today to share
something positive in my week and I challenge you to do the same.

Have a relaxing and fun weekend, {!firstname}.  Talk to you next
week and remember - pass it on.

Sincerely,
Jeanette Johnston

Health is a large word.  It embraces not the body only, but the
mind and spirit as well;… and not today’s pain or pleasure alone,
but the whole being and outlook of a man.

Nutrition Tip -

Read the labels on the bread that you buy.  Go for “whole grain”
items.  Whole grains are a better source of fibre.
Terms like “enriched flour” or “wheat flour” just don’t take the
cake.
